Hey there, welcome to the first ever Tipto discussion blog,
Can you feel it?
Let's's jump into our first topic,
Mindfulness, It’s part of all of our lives, this week its about mindful communication!
We are constantly connected with people, that being friends and family or being surrounded by people we haven't met yet. Mindfulness in the way that we speak can completely change our interactions, helping to create positive and present conversations.
Mindful Listening is about encouraging the other person in conversation by trying to understand things from their point of view, it's about being able to empathise and hear them speak from there authentic, true self. Building a relationship through non-judgement, and authenticity.
Let's have a challenge for the week - let's keep in mind the people we interact with, try and remain present and open. We might hear something we didn't before!
Reusable Drink containers! They're the best. Plastic doesn't break down. Making the decision to change to reusable containers is the perfect start towards a healthier environment. It’s a small change, but lots of little changes lead to big ones.
Plastic bottles are not only B.A.D for the environment, their also not recommended for digestion!
We have an exciting interview coming up, it's with our favourite sustainable drink bottle CEO. A great discussion around the challenges of the environment, mindful choices and how these water containers are making a difference, and hey there more then just water bottles!
Marinara Pasta ~ Yummy, yes it's coming to the end of winter but who still doesn't love a hearty, carb feista? Alright, and what if it has no baddies in it, just pure taste & pasta! PS. They can even be gluten-free!
Marinara Sauce -
8 fresh tomatoes ( choose your favourite), we used Roma!
1/4 cup of water
5 cloves of garlic
1/2 an onion, diced
1 bunch of fresh Basil (as much as you like)
I pinch of nutmeg
S&P to flavour,
Heat nutmeg for 10 seconds in frying pan, to open the flavour, add olive oil, onion and garlic until softened, add tomatoes and and water and allow to simmer for 30 minute's, chuck the Basil in until wilted and stirred through, turn off heat, and there you have it home made pasta sauce ready for your veggie lasagne, or Bolognese even on its own! Bon' Appetite baby!
Sustainable Travel Discussion
On the move, interchanging from bus to plane to ferry then train and what do we need almost more then our passports, water. Staying Hydrated is a big must in long hall flight's & arriving refreshed to our next destination.
How can we be sustainable whilst travelling? It's really bloody hard, and there's no rule of thumb. Meaning it varies from country to country - what is available, knowledge, the means to eliminate waste appropriately and economical status. This is a topic we'd love to talk about. We are on the move at the moment and finding it difficult to minimise plastic use and waste.
What happens if water isn't readily available in the countries your visiting, or the water isn't for consumption?
Purification tablets? What options are out there.
Look forward to reading your thoughts & ideas!!
